a. Personal Information – Things that identify you, such as:

  • Email address
  • Phone number
  • Loan Transcripts and Financial Information, which you securely provide to us. We use this data to calculate and show you your loan balances, interest rates, and payment history so we can give you accurate, personalized guidance on repayment options.
  • Bank account details (if you connect them for our service)
  • Government ID (if needed for verification)

b. Usage Information – Things about how you use our app, such as:

  • Which features you use
  • What device you’re using
  • Your IP address and location, which we use to secure your account, prevent fraud, and to tailor your experience to your local market. We also use this information to maintain a legally defensible record of your consent.

We use your information to provide our services, and crucially, we use your data to help you and our community.

5. Payments, Disputes, and Protecting Our Community

We want volv to be a safe place for everyone. We want to quickly identify fraudulent and troublesome actors so we can protect our community. We collect and retain data related to payment disputes and fraudulent transactions to defend against these actions. We also use this information to maintain a legally defensible record of your consent and to block future transactions from individuals who have engaged in fraudulent or high-risk behavior.

6. Your Choices, Rights, and Transparency

We believe that transparency is key to a trusting relationship. That's why we've designed your profile to be your personal transparency dashboard. Within your profile, you will be able to see:

  • Your Personal Data: A clear list of your name, contact details, and the loan information you’ve shared.
  • Your Consent Record: A timestamp of when you agreed to our Privacy Policy and Terms of Service, including the IP address you used at the time. (Coming soon)
  • Your Activity Log: A chronological log of your login sessions and any key actions related to your data. (Coming soon)

By providing you with this direct and complete access, we believe you should never need to ask us what information we have about you.

8. How We Protect Your Information

We're not satisfied with industry-standard security. We believe that true security starts from the ground up. We've built our service on an environment with no internet access by default, and we've carefully designed every exception to be as small as possible. This "zero-trust" architecture is designed to give you a level of protection that goes beyond the industry standard. We also encrypt everything we can, both in transit and at rest.

9. How Long We Keep Your Data

We believe your data should work for you and our community. By joining, you agree to share your anonymized data to help others. As soon as we can, we anonymize your data to untie it from your identity and aggregate it for the benefit of the community. That anonymized data will live on. We keep your personal data for up to a year after your subscription expires to give you a seamless experience if you choose to return. Your personal data will be deleted either after that year or when you ask us to delete it. If you ask us to delete your personal data while your subscription is active, we will have to end your service, as we cannot provide our service to you without that data.

10. Third-Party Links and Warnings

We believe that your privacy is your right. Any time we feel you might benefit from sharing your information with a third party, we will first inform and explain exactly what you would be sharing and why, and give you the option to opt in. We do this to ensure your privacy is always protected and that you never inadvertently share your data. This is our commitment to you and our community.

11. Changes to This Policy

We may update this policy sometimes. When we do, we’ll let you know by email or through the app.

12. Governing Law

This policy is governed by the laws of the Commonwealth of Massachusetts.
